To become a painter was a natural progression for Fiona following a successful career as a knitwear designer. She graduated in textiles from Winchester School of Art and won the Young Designer into Industry Award presented by the Royal Society of Arts before working with Marks and Spencer as well as teaching. As an artist her relationship with the landscape is deep rooted, coming from several generations of Highland crofters. The landscape is a vastness of subject matter which can never be exhausted The unique textural quality and bold colour of her landscapes reflect her early training and background.
